starting over

last week i did something i swore i'd never do...i bought a mac.

i'm still undecided as to whether or not that was a wise move. i knew windows inside and out and i feel like i'm totally starting over with my computer skills.

so far the pros are: super sleek and sexy looking, great for graphics and designing (which i've been totally into lately) and i am really enjoying iphoto and itunes.

now for the cons: i don't know what i'm doing in any way, shape or form...it's totally foreign to me, my epson printer doesn't work - it just shoots out plain white paper until it's all gone and i can't get all my old files onto the new computer (because of the whole windows to mac thing)
.

so, i think i'll give it a while to grow on me...everyone tells me once you go mac you never go back. only time will tell!

Just don't become one of those crazy mac people that put apple stickers on their cars, and wear t-shirts that say "windows sucks"

oh, you'll love it--just give it time! i was so frustrated at first too. we actually have parallels and can run windows on our mac and at first i lived on the windows side. now, i NEVER use windows, i actually HATE it! if you ever have any questions, don't hesitate to shoot me an email!

How funny Jill, Britt and I bought a macbook last week! We are still learning everything on it, but I think I will really like it once I know what I am doing. His brother talked us into it. Let me know what software you buy and what you find works well. I am also excited for iphoto.

Macs rule. Windows Sucks. I have a sticker and wear the t-shirt. He he

Actually, they are a far superior computer, if you want my opinion: ) It does take a little to get the closing the windows on the left side exc. I feel like you have to train yourself to do things the easy and uncomplicated way. If all else fails, just drag and drop. You don't know how many times I have tried to do something and all I had to do was pick it up and move it... Anyway, good luck in the transition. We have had all of our Apple stuff (4th computer) for over 8 years and wouldn't trade it for the world! Call me if you get too frustrated, really. I would love to help you!

XOXOX,
E

That is funny! We bought the iMac a couple six months ago. I had to learn everything all over again. However, no more viruses! I love it. Brett teases me that I will be first to get a virus on the mac. My brother Mike says that people who own Macs are all "liberal democrats". How cynical is he? Rebecca
