she sounded a bit weary. and i was about to find out why.
she put sydney on the phone. the little voice on the other end of the line sounded weak, but brave.
hey mom, guess what?
i have a hospital bracelet!
a hospital bracelet? i repeated back to be sure i heard her correctly.
middle of the night.
temperature of 104 degrees.
trouble breathing.
and a wicked cough.
my quick-thinking mother-in-law rushed her to the ER right away.
diagnosis....pneumonia.
breathing treatments.
x-rays.
antibiotics.
poor baby! and there i was, a million miles away and not able to comfort her. i felt so bad.
what a helpless feeling.
i was even more grateful to have such an amazing mother-in-law. bless her heart, she earned her wings last week.
and did i mention mitchell got an ear infection in addition to teething?
NICE.
oh, and one more thing...marc and i are both sick too. so, that makes four of us!
boy am i glad we took that vacation....looking forward to the next one. :)
think my mother-in-law will volunteer to tend??????

wow Jill, I am so sorry to hear about your sick kids and you and Marc too. What awful timing. At least they are with grandma-the next best thing to mom and dad. Hope you make it home safe. I'll go in your place next year if you want to bail out. Hee Hee
