look who's taking after her father.

friday was her very first race ever.

the ironman kids one mile run.

she was so excited!

we bought her some cute new teeny running shorts from target.

she trained with dad every night the week before the race.

it was all she could talk about.

what would the t-shirt and medal look like?

what was the promised "special drink" at the finish line?

on race day, she must have asked me a hundred times if it was time to go yet.

finally, it was time.

she put on her running gear, made sure her shoe laces were tied in double-knots 

and off she went.

i watched from the bleachers, yelling like a crazy-proud parent, camera in hand.

what an awesome accomplishment...

and she knew it too!

i'm so glad she got to feel that sense of satisfaction that comes with achieving your goals.

i have a feeling this is just the first of many accomplishments she'll make in this life.

and i can't wait to see what she does next!
